We invite you to join us to worship in-person each Sunday at 8:00am & 10:15am.
Each week’s in-person service will be introduced by an advance video that includes a reading and reflection, music, and an opportunity to get to know neighbours in our wider local community.
This St John’s Worship Video anticipates our in-person worship service on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
The opening meditation on God’s Creation features the Pine Grove Forest Trail, part of the National Capital Greenbelt. We are pleased to welcome Kimberly Johnson-Breen, who introduces us to participating in the smudging that is currently offered as worshipers enter the church on Sundays for worship.
The Scripture text “Whoever is not against us is for us” opens us to partnership as we get to know our local community and as we walk alongside Indigenous Peoples in renewing our sacred covenants. This language of partnership is kingdom language, pointing us to Jesus’ vision for coming together. The music amplifies this theme with a presentation of “The Kingdom of God is Justice and Joy” – on the harp and sung by the St John’s Choir.
We hope you will join us for in-person worship. Check out our safety practices and register:
Welcome and I’m looking forward to meeting you!
The Reverend Gary van der Meer
Pastor & Rector
