St John's welcomes children!

Sundays - 8 a.m. This service features a Kids' Korner with activities and opportunities for children to take up active roles in the service. Children are invited to read the scriptures, set the table for communion, and give the bread and the wine.

Sundays - 10.15 a.m. This service offers a children's program called Godly Play. Godly Play is an innovative method of faith formation for childhood and beyond. The Godly Play method encourages participants to experience faith-building stories through intentional storytelling and imaginative wondering.

The above video presents a demonstration of the weekly children's program at St John's. Children begin in the worship service, have a time of storytelling, creativity, and a snack, and return to the worship service as people are coming forward to receive communion or a blessing. For children who prefer to stay in the service, there is an activity table beside the crèche where children are invited to colour and play with soft toys while overhearing the worship service. St John's has trained children's ministry leaders and keeps safe church practices. Children are very welcome here. We look forward to meeting your child.

Please note that St John's also offers occasional child-centred events, such as Messy Church, hikes, and movie matinees. Please watch the Events Calendar and sign up for the newsletter for updates about upcoming child-friendly events.

Baptism and confirmation, the sacraments of initiation to Christianity and membership in the Anglican Church, are always available for people of all ages. Please contact our Rector, the Rev. Canon Gary van der Meer for more information.
