The Refugee Assistance Group (RAG) sponsors refugees from overseas and assists refugees and their families in adjusting to their new lives in Canada. This assistance includes financial support but also settlement support, which involves help with everything from finding and furnishing an apartment, learning how to use public transit, getting suitable winter clothing, enrolling children in school or anything else about Canadian life that may be new or confusing to a refugee.
These sponsorships are wonderful opportunities for us to show the love of Christ to those who are coming from very difficult and dangerous situations. They are also an excellent opportunity to experience different cultures and to realize, once again, how greatly blessed we are to live here in Canada.
