Allen is a retired priest of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. He grew up in Smiths Falls, ON and was nurtured in the Anglican Church of St. John the Evangelist there.
Later formal education included B.A. at Bishop’s University; S.T.M. at Trinity College, University of Toronto; and the Queen’s Executive program, Kingston.
He shared ministry in the parishes of St. Mark, Ottawa; Petawawa, with Chalk River, South Alice, and Landry Crossing penitentiary; St. Barnabas, Deep River; Emmanuel, Arnprior; St. John’s, Elgin Street; Director of Program; and All Saint’s, Westboro.
He was the first Archdeacon of Ottawa Centre and is the retired Canon of St. John in the Diocese of Ottawa. He is married to Marilyn (Wardle). Their children are Joel in Tampa, Florida, and Leah in Halifax where they share life with their families.
Allen and Marilyn enjoy joining the development of our former parish in today’s challenging ministries under Gary’s leadership.
