Welcome to this worship video for the Seventh Sunday after the Epiphany.
For this week’s sermon, we are grateful to John Holgate, who is serving as Ministry Intern at St John's, for a sermon on loving our enemies. As you will see, this is very timely for the challenges we face in Ottawa as the convoy protest concludes.
This video includes portions of both Sunday services, which took place on Zoom, with additional pre-recorded music. The prelude by the composer Denis Bédard, is “Dialogue sur le Te Deum.” The hymn “Lord of All Hopefulness” offers the alternative verses for “Be Thou My Vision” as a fitting reflection on moving past the challenges we face in Ottawa.
St John’s will return to in-person worship services in the church building on February 27 and thereafter at our regular service times, 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. St John’s also returns to the format of an advance video – to serve both as preparation for Sunday, and as a connection with all who are not able to be with us in person. Thanks for being with us!
St John’s is Holy Ground – A Safe Space for Searching Souls. Welcome!
The Reverend Gary van der Meer
